I WAS delighted to see Manchester City and West Ham pay a fitting tribute to Marc-Vivien Foe at the Etihad Stadium, a decade on from his tragic death.
A picture of Marc, who donned the number 23 shirt during his time with the Blues, appeared on the big screen, drawing applause from both sets of supporters.
The Cameroon international also represented the Hammers during a successful top-flight career.
Marc was a really nice lad, a quiet and unassuming guy.
It was so sad when he passed away after collapsing during an international fixture.
As for Saturday’s match itself, it was a straightforward 2-1 win, though the visitors played some decent football.
We scored two superb goals, the first an excellent team move finished off by Sergio Aguero, the second an absolute screamer courtesy of Yaya Toure's left foot.
And to be honest I think Joe Hart would have saved Andy Carroll's stoppage-time consolation effort had it not been for the fact he suffered an injury a few minutes earlier.
Next we hit the road to Swansea on Saturday. Their form has been a bit up and down of late, but Michael Laudrup's side have proved themselves to be a good team this season and they beat us at the Liberty Stadium last term.
