David Moyes: big shoes to fill
DAVID Moyes says he is is honoured to have been given the chance to fill Sir Alex Ferguson's mighty shoes at Manchester United.
Moyes has been given a six–year contract at Old Trafford, starting in July.
His work will start before then with meetings with chief executive-elect Ed Woodward to discuss a joint strategy.
"It is a great honour to be asked to be the next manager of Manchester United," said Moyes.
"I am delighted Sir Alex saw fit to recommend me for the job. I have great respect for everything he has done.
"I know how hard it will be to follow the best manager ever, but the opportunity to manage Manchester United isn't something that comes around very often.
"I am really looking forward to taking up the post."
