Kagawa vows to impress new boss Moyes

MANCHESTER United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has vowed to improve after admitting he was unhappy with his performance in his maiden Premier League season.

Despite picking up a league winners’ medal as United secured their 20th title, the Japanese international was not satisfied personally.

“It was a tough time for me,” said Kagawa. “I am not happy with my performance for the team at all. I didn’t score that much and I also had my knee injury.

“It was great we won the league; I just don’t feel I achieved everything I wanted.”

Kagawa arrived at Old Trafford last summer with an impressive reputation, but United never really saw the sort of form he regularly displayed in Germany.

“Whenever there is a tough time, whenever it gets difficult for me, I just train and look ahead to the future,” he said.

NEW Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini believes adding more pace to his squad will put them in better shape to regain the league title.

The Chilean manager says speed is a key component of the club's two summer signings Jesus Navas and Fernandinho.

“Jesus is someone I have admired for a long time,” he said.
