Tevez heading for City exit

CARLOS Tevez will undergo a medical at Juventus today as prepares to say goodbye to his four–year stay with Manchester City.

Tevez is set to complete a £13.5m move to the Turin club later this week. City directors met with Juventus yesterday to agree the move.

Although Juventus will initially pay nine million euros, another six could be payable if various clauses are met over the course of an expected three–year contract.

Tevez’s status as one of City’s highest earners means the deal in total is worth £27million, even though the player had only a year left on his contract.

As long as there are no unforeseen hitches, the transfer will bring to an end one of the most eventful Barclays Premier League careers.

Tevez was named skipper in 2010 and led the Blues to an FA Cup final win over Stoke the following year, but simmering discontent erupted in Munich when Tevez opted not to warm–up during a Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in Germany.

Furious Mancini put Tevez on ‘gardening leave’, but a January move didn’t materialise and he returned to the club in February 2012.
