AFTER helping Lancashire back to Division One of the LV= County Championship, Kyle Hogg has had two more reasons to celebrate.
The 30-year-old seamer, who spent his formative years at Greenfield in the Saddleworth and District Cricket League, picked up the Red Rose county’s player of the year award.
He claimed 60 wickets in Lancashire’s Division Two title-winning season, at an average of 18.41.
With four for 11, Hogg played his part in demolishing Essex for just 20. In the next game he bagged seven for 27 against Northamptonshire.
Hogg, the leading amateur bowler in the Saddleworth League in 2000, was also named the club’s Championship player of the year at the end-of-season awards ceremony, held at The Point.
Ashwell Prince won the one-day player of the year gong and the ‘champagne moment’ after holding a brilliant catch on the boundary against Glamorgan at Colwyn Bay.
