Lancashire count on borough’s oche aces

OLDHAM darts team played their part in Lancashire’s defeat of hosts Cambridgeshire.
Mark McGeeney, an England international, was Lancashire’s man of the match after a 4-2 win in his clash and an average 86.49 for every three darts.
Dave Rawstron won 4-2 (74.67), Lee Holden brushed aside his opponent 4-0 (78.09) and Dave Adshead won 4-1 (74.55).
Paul Cartwright, who recently notched a nine-dart finish, lost 4-0 to England captain Martin Adams, the three-time BDO world champion.
Overall, Lancs ‘A’ won 7-5 and the ‘B’ team triumphed 9-3.
THE reigning BDO champion Scott Waites is appearing at Crompton Conservative Club, Queen Street, on Wednesday, October 16 (8pm). The 36-year-old, from Halifax, will take the oche against 16 players from the area.
Entry is free. There will be a raffle and auction on the night, with all money raised going to Help For Heroes.
