Injury mars Reds’ romp

JAVIER Hernandez struck twice as Manchester United eased into the quarter–finals of the Capital One Cup with a convincing 4–0 win over Norwich City last night.
Phil Jones and substitute Fabio de Silva also got on the scoresheet in a one–sided encounter at Old Trafford.
The Canaries struggled to pose any threat and lost Robert Snodgrass in the second half through injury
The former Leeds United winger required prolonged treatment after apparently being knocked out in a clash of heads with Rafael and was carried off on a stretcher. He spent the night in hospital, which Norwich boss Chris Hughton described as “very much a precaution”.
Hughton had made eight changes — one fewer than United boss David Moyes, which appeared to have an effect on his side’s intensity.
United have now gone six games unbeaten after a difficult start to the season and assistant boss Steve Round feels momentum is building.
He said: “This club is used to winning, it has a winning mentality. You need to go on runs in this league and this club is the best in the business at building that.”
