HEADING into this season we already knew David Silva was a fantastic footballer, but now he has added goals to his game he is an even bigger threat.
On the scoresheet again in Manchester City's 7-0 drubbing of Norwich at the Etihad Stadium, the little Spaniard continued his excellent run of form.
I have waxed lyrical in recent weeks because he truly is a pleasure to watch, and I think it is worth pointing out that he has got better as the season has progressed.
David is a lot more confident and assured in front of goal and isn;t afraid to shoot. Obviously it’s hard to pick out one individual responsible in a 7-0 victory, but for me, David edged it.
It was as comfortable an afternoon as we could have hoped for: all credit to the players for not easing off after the interval.
Taking a 4-0 lead into the second hald, some may have expected us to take the foot off the pedal. But competition for places in the side is fierce, so the hunger was there until the final whistle.
It did our goal difference the world of good, which could be important come the end of the season.
The win was the perfect way to warm up for tonight's UEFA Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow. A triumph at the Etihad tonight would virtually seal progession to the knock-out stages of the competition.
It would be a big boost to secure safe passage to the next round before our trip to Bayern Munich on December 10.
We enter this evening's fixture full of confidence. Everyone's tails are up at the moment and it is important to maintain this momentum.
