Reds’ tribute to legend Foulkes

MANCHESTER United are expected to wear black armbands against Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow as a mark of respect to Bill Foulkes, who died yesterday aged 81.
Foulkes was captain of the club following the Munich air disaster and played a key role in United’s1968 European Cup triumph - including scoring the winning goal in the semi–final against Real Madrid.
United will also mark his passing at their next home match on December 4.
Sir Bobby Charlton saif his fellow Busby Babe had helped to change the course of United’s history.
Defender Foulkes made his debut for United in 1952 and went on to play 688 times for the club – a figure only surpassed by Charlton, Ryan Giggs and Oldhamer Paul Scholes.
Charlton - like Foulkes a survivor of the Munich air crash - described his old friend as “a marvellous man.”
“He was hard as nails, as tough as teak; I was always glad I didn't have to play against him,” Charlton said.
