Thunder at the double

MANCHESTER Thunder have retained the Mike Greenwood major and minor trophies.
There was outstanding netball at the Manchester Thunderdome as the hosts, along with Superleague sides Yorkshire Jets and Team Northumbria, the Welsh national team and Manchester Thunder Tornadoes, strutted their stuff.
Thunder opened with a 31-27 victory over Yorkshire Jets, before they were held to a 22-22 draw by Wales. They wrapped up their round-robin matches with a 32-18 win against Team Northumbria.
Wales were Thunder’s opponents in the final, and this time the home side made no mistake thanks to a 27-20 success.
Thunder’s NPL side won their tournament, thanks to round-robin victories over Team Northumbria (20-13), Yorkshire Jets (15-7) and MT Tornadoes (24-12), followed by an impressive 22-2 final defeat of Jets.
