Dzeko double eases City into last four

MANCHESTER City manager Manuel Pellegrini praised his players for a “professional” job after they eased into the Capital One Cup semi–finals with a 3–1 win at Leicester.
Pellegrini made eight changes but still fielded a side that was far too strong for Nigel Pearson’s Championship high-fliers at the King Power Stadium.
Edin Dzeko struck twice after Aleksandar Kolarov opened the scoring with a fine free–kick on a night on which City were rarely troubled.
Pellegrini said: “It was very important for the team to continue in the Capital One.
“We played very well, especially in the first half.”
Pellegrini revealed last night that City striker Sergio Aguero could be out of action for up to eight weeks.
The club is still to learn the full extent of Aguero’s calf injury, but such a lay–off could make him doubtful for the first leg of the Champions League clash against Barcelona.
