Jordan’s pace is big threat

SPORTS BETTING:

ENGLAND’S cricketers were given little respite by Australia, despite a change of format on Sunday.

After losing the Ashes Test series 5-0, England slumped to a six-wicket defeat in the first one-day international of a five-match series.

That loss in Melbourne was as emphatic as in the Test matches, so it really is hard to see the tide turning in the second ODI at Brisbane on Friday.

The Aussies are 4-11 to continue their winning streak, with England 9-4.

There were only one or two performances of note at the MCG, but young fast bowler Chris Jordan did look promising as he was unlucky to pick up only one wicket.

This lad is quite nippy and, if the Brisbane pitch plays as fast as it did for the opening Test, then he could prove to be a real handful for the home batsmen.

Back him at 7-2 to be our leading wicket-taker, while Boyd Rankin has also caught my eye and he is rated at a tempting 9-2 in the same market.

RECOMMENDATION: Chris Jordan to be leading England wicket-taker in second ODI v Australia, 7-2 (general).
