IT took a couple of truly special goals to drag City back from behind in the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland.

But once they had gone in, from Yaya and Nasri, there really wasn’t much chance of Sunderland coming back.

Fair play to Sunderland. They played really well and put in a determined effort to keep us out. But when you’ve got players like Toure, Nasri, Aguero, Silva and Negredo, you’re always going to get chances to break teams down.

It was a fantastic day at Wembley and there was a lovely reception at a posh hotel in London on Sunday night. There were around 300 people and all the players came for an hour to join in the celebrations before they all had to jet off to their various international matches.

It was great to see all the former City players from way back: Joe Corrigan, Tony Book, Willie Donachie, Dennis Tueart and Mike Summerbee are all good pals of mine still and it was lovely that they got to wave to the City fans on the pitch before the game. It was a nice touch.

In fact we still take a break in Spain every year; we get together for four or five days and we’ve got a veterans’ team which still plays the odd match.

It’s great when you can continue to share some brilliant memories, and we made sure Sunday was a good night!

It’s back into FA Cup action for City at the weekend, of course. The manager will be hoping everybody comes back injury-free. Then it’s the chance for some revenge against Wigan and we’ll all be heading back down to Wembley again!
