MANCHESTER United will not consider appointing Ryan Giggs as the club’s next full–time manager, it is understood.

United announced yesterday that Giggs will take charge of first–team affairs following the sacking of David Moyes. Once the Giggs news was announced, many United fans took to social media to declare their support for Giggs as permanent manager.

The 40–year–old Welshman only started taking his coaching badges earlier this season, but has 13 Premier League winner’s medals and is revered by United fans across the globe.

But, it is believed the United board would prefer a more experienced manager to drag them out of the hole left by Moyes.

Club officials hope Giggs will be a member of the backroom team of Moyes’ successor.

United hope Giggs can restore a sense of pride to the club in the next few weeks. The Welshman is expected to remind his players of the club’s history.

Senior figures at United started having misgivings about Moyes’ ability to get the best out of his squad during the 2–0 away defeat to Olympiacos, it has emerged. Though United eventually won the tie 3–2 at the return leg, doubts persisted. The 2–0 loss at Everton was the tipping point.
