Beckham backs new manager

DAVID Beckham believes Manchester United’s new management team of Louis van Gaal and Ryan Giggs are the ideal tandem to take the club back to the top.
United have just completed their worst season in recent memory, finishing seventh in the Barclays Premier League and failing to qualify for the Champions league.
Van Gaal was announced as his replacement on Monday and will take over after he has finished his coaching duties with Holland at the World Cup with Giggs as his assistant.
The Dutchman has won domestic titles with Ajax, Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich and Giggs, who was part of the famous ‘Class of 92’ generation at Old Trafford, believes he has the right philosophy to take the club forward.
“He has got a history of working with young players, bringing players through academy systems at places like Ajax,’ he said. “That can only be great for Manchester United.”
