SPORTS BETTING:
OF all the world’s great sporting events, the Tour De France is surely the most gruelling.
This year’s cycling super-marathon promises to be no different and enthusiasts in this area will be able to watch the action first hand when Le Tour’s second stage, from York to Sheffield on July 6, skirts our area.
More of that nearer the time, but for now I can say Britain’s Chris Froome is the 4-5 favourite to successfully defend his title.
Fellow Briton Sir Bradley Wiggins, the 2012 champion, is not certain to be selected by his team so it is not surprising he can be backed at 33-1.
Bigger dangers to Froome appear to be Alberto Contador (9-4) and Vincenzo Nibali (8-1).
