Cole’s Roma targets Euro boost
Date published: 30 September 2014
ASHLEY Cole claims the pressure is on Manchester City to beat his new side Roma tonight – or face Champions League misery.
Victory for Roma would mean consecutive defeats in Europe for Manuel Pellegrini’s men and leave a mountain to climb for City.
Cole said: “If we win it will make it more difficult for them to catch up and will probably make us top of the group.”
Cole, in England for the first time since his summer move to Rome, says he is loving life in Italy’s Serie ‘A’.
The match at the Etihad will see Cole come up against former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard and former England team–mate Joe Hart.
