Roper’s salute for ‘best’ fans
Date published: 07 October 2014
OLDHAM try-scorer Steve Roper struggled to hide his devastation after Oldham’s season of hard graft in Kingstone Press Championship One went up in smoke.
Half-back Roper tried to sum up what it meant to himself, the players and the coaching staff, but understandably found it tough.
“It’s difficult to swallow that defeat in such a big game. When you think about how hard we've worked all year, that’s the most disappointing thing of all. We’ve got to keep our heads up now though, even after a defeat like this.”
