CHRONICLE racing correspondent Keith McHugh is the man to follow as the National Hunt season gets into full swing.
Saturday’s racing features the prestigious Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby and our man signalled his intentions for the jumps season by pinpointing the chance of Wishfull Thinking for Aintree’s Old Roan Chase on Saturday. His selection duly obliged at 14-1.
Anyone who followed McHugh’s selections here were rewarded in style. Not only did Wishfull Thinking do McHugh’s followers a favour, but there were other Aintree winners: Parish Business (17-2), Spirit of Shankley (2-1) and Lie Forrit (15-8).
It was a similar story at the other jumps meetings which produced winners in the shape of Shelford (6-1), On Tour (9-2), Carrigmorna King (100-30), Seas Of Green (3-1), Bob Ford (2-1) and Sausalito Sunrise, (nap, 5-6).
And when his Flat winners – Dungannon (13-2), Lilac Lace (5-1), Sky Hunter (7-2), Low Key (3-1) and headline horse Elm Park (13-8) were taken into account, that made it a staggering 15 winning selections for Saturday.
