WILFRIED Bony has targeted Champions League glory after completing his reported £28million transfer from Swansea to Manchester City.
The 26–year–old striker agreed a four–a–half year deal at the Etihad Stadium while away on international duty with the Ivory Coast.
Bony’s debut may be delayed for nearly a month because of the Ivory Coast’s participation in the African Nations Cup, but he is eligible to play in the Champions League, starting with the first leg of City’s last 16 tie against Barcelona on February 24.
“I think it’s a great decision for me – Manchester City is in the Champions League,” Bony said about his move on the official club website.
“At the end of last season I said that if I want to move it will be to a team in the competition, because it’s a great tournament that I really want to play in, and one I want to win.
“City is a big club with great players with a lot of experience. I believe we can do it.”
