Sergio will soon be firing again, says Zaba

MANCHESTER City defender Pablo Zabaleta believes compatriot Sergio Aguero needs only one goal to get firing again.

Argentina striker Aguero was in superb form earlier in the season with 19 goals in 21 games, before a knee injury in December.

Since returning from a five–week lay–off a month ago he hasn’t scored in five games – a run that has coincided with a downturn in results. City haven’t won any of their games since Aguero returned, slipping seven points behind Chelsea in the league and crashing out of the FA Cup.

Zabaleta is convinced his fortunes will return sooner rather than later.

He said: “We need Sergio to come back to his best, like he was in November and December when he was scoring goals and working hard.

“After being injured for a long time, for some players it’s difficult to come back to fitness. I am sure Sergio will come back to his best very soon.”
