Van Persie out of Spurs clash

MANCHESTER United striker Robin van Persie is set to miss clashes against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool after it has been revealed his ankle injury is worse than originally diagnosed.
Van Persie hurt his ankle in a 2-1 loss to Swansea last month, and was expected to be back in time to face the Reds and Spurs this Sunday, two teams fighting United for a Champions League spot.
However, the Dutchman has failed to recover, giving boss Louis van Gaal a selection headache in attack.
The former Arsenal hit-man has already been left out of the Netherland’s national team in their matches against Turkey and Spain, meaning Van Persie could be sidelined until United’s game with Aston Villa in April.
Van Gaal will therefore be expected to use struggling summer signing Radamel Falcao up front alongside Wayne Rooney, with the Colombian only managing to score four goals in his 20 appearances.
