TRACEY Neville will not return to Manchester Thunder should she be offered the England coach position permanently.
Neville was appointed interim national coach last week and will remain Thunder’s director of netball until the end of the current season.
Manchester Thunder director Debie Hallas praised the selectors’ choice, calling it a “natural move” for Neville: “She has proved her calibre for the role and all at Thunder wish Tracey and the England squad all the best,” said Hallas.
Neville has already issued a warning to those players vying for England selection ahead of August’s Netball World Cup in Sydney.
"At the very least I want a performance from the players, as the ones they have put out, especially at the Commonwealth Games, weren't good enough for the talent in the team,” she said.
“I am under no illusions that running Thunder and England side-by-side for the next few months will be hard, but I will do my very best.”
Following Neville to the England set-up is her current assistant at Thunder, Karen Greig. Greig served as Neville’s captain in 2012 when Thunder claimed the Superleague title
