MANCHESTER City’s under-18s can succeed where the club’s senior players failed this season – by winning a piece of silverware.
The next generation of City stars plays the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea tonight, and defender Cameron Humphreys is upbeat over his side’s chances.
The 16 year old from New Moston says the clash at City’s Academy Stadium is a perfect opportunity for the teenagers to show their talents (kick-off 7.45pm).
Humphreys, who captained England under-17s in the Victory Shield against Scotland last year, said: “It’s a massive game and one we are confident of winning – it would mean so much if we did.”
This is City’s first FA Youth Cup final since 2008 and for Humphreys, who signed a two-year scholarship in July, 2014, the occasion is right up there alongside representing his country.
Tickets for tonight’s game leg are £6 adults and £4 concessions. The second leg is at Stamford Bridge next Monday.
