AHEAD of top flight football’s return this weekend following the international break, Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has been named Premier League Player of the Month for September.
The 19 year old has made a remarkable impact at Old Trafford since becoming the most expensive teenager in transfer history, with a £36m move from Monaco on deadline day.
Martial scored on his debut in the 3-1 victory over Liverpool on September 12 and then added two in a 3-2 win at Southampton on September 20.
The France international grabbed another in the Capital One Cup win over Ipswich three days later and has continued to impress in his three appearances since.
Former United hit-man Andy Cole has been delighted with the impact Martial has made: “I do like him. I’ve got to be honest, I didn’t know a lot about him before he came to United. He’s made a great impression.”
The Premier League returns tomorrow and the Red Devils will be ready to roar on their way to Goodison Park, where they take on Everton.
