HOCKEY:
OLDHAM’S Nicola White was bursting with pride when she won her 50th cap for Great Britain in Argentina.
Holcome forward White (28) is in South America ahead of the Women’s Hockey World League final tournament, which starts in Rosario on Saturday.
At present the 18-strong squad is in Tucaman for a three-Test warm-up series against Argentina, and White secured her half-century of GB caps in a 0-0 draw in the opening fixture.
The second game, in which White also played, ended in a 3-2 defeat for Team GB on Sunday, with the final Test set to be played today.
Team GB’s opening World League finals Pool ‘B’ game is on Saturday night, midnight UK time, against the hosts. They then take on China on Sunday night (9.45pm).
