Birthday boy’s double delight

RAHEEM Sterling expressed his delight after his birthday double ensured Manchester City went through to the Champions League last 16 as group winners.
The England forward celebrated turning 21 with two goals in two minutes as City came from behind late in the game to beat Borussia Monchengladbach 4–2 at the Etihad Stadium.
The victory took City above Juventus - beaten at Sevilla - to the top of Group ‘D’. Theoretically this means a more favourable draw in the first knockout round.
Sterling said: “We have made it hard at times, but the most important thing is that we have shown the character and hopefully we can carry it on to the last 16.
“It’s a brilliant feeling for the boys. We have worked hard and we have deserved it.”
David Silva and substitute Wilfried Bony were also on target for City.
