City take Capital One Cup

MANCHESTER City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists victory in the Capital One Cup has given him more confidence he can leave the club on a high.
A 3–1 penalty shoot–out win over Liverpool at Wembley secured the Chilean’s third trophy in as many seasons. He also remains in the hunt for the Premier League title and the Champions League. City are nine points behind leaders Leicester with a game in hand, and hold a 3–1 first–leg lead over Dynamo Kiev in their last–16 European tie.
Pellegrini said the pending arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer made no difference to his desire to sign off with as many trophies as possible.
“It is important to continue trusting in what we are doing,” he said.
