City turned in a classy performance against Bournemouth at the weekend, one that should help confidence going into tomorrow night’s crunch Champions League game.
City battered the Cherries on the South coast. They played some lovely football and every player looked on top of his game.
Of course, securing Champions League football for next season remains a major priority now for the Blues, and I still think there will be scares on the way to a top-four spot.
It’s been brilliant to see Kevin de Bruyne and Samir Nasri back in action. De Bruyne in particular is a class act with almost everything in his locker.
It is looking like Leicester are going to win the Premier League title now. Barring a late-season collapse of almost epic proportions, they will be crowned champions and I’ll be happy for them.
They’ve just kept grinding out good results and deserve to be where they are.
So City’s focus turns to Paris and I don’t think it’s wrong to say it’s the club’s biggest game in years.
City have never reached the Champions League quarter-finals, so that says it all. PSG are a really great side, packed with brilliant players - but on their day City are capable of competing with anyone in Europe.
Manuel Pellegrini will be looking for any kind of result to bring back to the Etihad. Even a narrow defeat wouldn’t be a disaster. I’m really excited about this one.
