Trio dance off with silverware

Shaw dance school Madd! for Dance is celebrating a hat-trick of awards at the nationwide finals at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

Not only were there three outright winners, but pupils also took 10 other awards at the International Dance Teachers’ Association ballroom and Latin American competition. The three Shaw champions are Katy Matthews, who won the under-35 ballroom title; Jack Clegg, who took the under-21 Latin title; and Tricki Roderick, who was named under-35 Latin winner.

Madd! for Dance owner Sean Madden said: “The standard of this competition goes up every year and to achieve a place in the finals is not easy — to have three winners and a number of semi-finalists is something we are very proud of.”
