A TESCO spokesman has rubbished rumours that there are plans for a new store at The Albion Club in Market Street, Royton.

FLAME-throwing and people in stocks were a few of the events at a charity fun day held at The Oddies in Royton on Sunday. Organisers, who raised £1,000, thanked everyone who provided the entertainment and donated raffle prizes.

DR Kershaw’s Royton shop has a won competition run by Voluntary Action Oldham for its window display which highlights the work of volunteers. Staff beat other charity shops in Oldham to win a hamper, as part of national volunteers week.

ST ANNE’S Church in Royton is holding a shoe collection on Sunday. The aim of the scheme is to send girls in poorer countries to school.

BLOOD donors are required at St Paul’s Parish Centre, Church Street, between 1.15 and 3.30pm and 5.15 to 7.30pm on Friday, July 8.

DR KERSHAW’S Hospice will be showing off its new extension and facilities including a relatives’ room, at an open day from 10am-2pm on Saturday.

A POLICE surgery takes place at Holy Trinity Church in Royton from 10am until noon every Thursday.
