Tea, biscuits and festivities were the order of the day for Shawside Nursing Home residents this week.

Thirty-two pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School dazzled the residents with their singing and dancing skills at the the home, in Oldham Road, Shaw.

Christine Ford, activities co-ordinator at the home, said: “We thought they were wonderful.

“They didn’t just sing, they stayed on and danced with the residents. It was the old and young meeting.”
