ROYTON Local History Society is hosting a talk called “It is not politically correct” by Michael Clarke, at Downey House from 7.30pm on Monday.
LOCAL actress Julie Brown is having beans poured on her head in aid of charity. The event takes place at Royton’s Marston Tavern from 1pm on Sunday, April 22. Cash raised will go to Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and the newly-founded Scott Ward Memorial Fund.
GRAVELHOLE Arts Festival takes place this weekend with plenty of art demonstrations including pottery, photography and wood turning, to enjoy. It takes place at Gravehole Methodist Church in Royton from 10.30am-5pm on Saturday and from 10.45am-4pm on Sunday. Admission is free.
A FREE family event takes place noon-4pm at Royton and Crompton School to celebrate St George’s Day on April 21.
SHAW and Crompton Parish Council approved grants of £250 towards operational costs for the North-West Air Ambulance and a touch-screen for Shaw and Crompton children’s centre.
A SPRING charity market takes place at St Paul’s Methodist Church from 10.30am-2.30pm on Saturday, April 21.
GET on your dancing shoes and learn a quickstep, cha cha cha or rumba at new classes held at St Paul’s Parish centre in Royton on Mondays from 7-8pm. Everyone welcome and partners aren’t required.
