Singers appeal

TRINITY Singers urgently need a musical director following a retirement.
The friendly mixed choir was established in 1948 as an operatic society and currently has 40 members. Rehearsals take place at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Trent Road, Shaw. Apply by calling Diane Dunning on 07748-194 205 or by email at dmd.0503@gmail.com.
CROMPTON Primary School was today officially presented with its Enhanced Healthy Schools silver award following an increase in school meal take up, an improvement of the lunchtime experience for children and an increase in the percentage of time Key Stage 2 girls were involved in physical activity.

ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild meet at Royton Town Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 8. Guests can enjoy a talk entitled Trials, Tribulations & Joys of a Blue Badge Guide. Admission is £1 and membership details are available on the night.
STAFF and parents of Crompton House School will be washing cars at school to raise funds for their Changing Lives expedition to Ecuador in 2013. A jet wash, shampoo and rinse will be on offer next to the main entrance just off the main road from 9am until noon on Saturday.
THE Friends of Blackshaw Lane School group is holding a spring fair from 3.15 to 6pm on Friday, May 11.
