GIVE your car a sparkle, courtesy of pupils and parents from Crompton House School, who will be washing cars at the school to raise money for their “Changing Lives” expedition to Ecuador in 2013.
A jet wash, shampoo and rinse will be available from 9am until noon on Saturday.
BAG a bargain at a spring fair tomorrow, organised by the Friends of Blackshaw Lane School, at the school from 3.15 until 6pm.
GET an early ticket for a charity comedy night called “The Man with Two Gaffers” at Crompton Playhouse Two Theatre on Monday, June 18, in aid of the Royal Rover. Money raised with go towards an appeal to buy a new minibus, driven by volunteers around the grounds of the Royal Oldham Hospital, ferrying patients, visitors and staff around the site. CROMPTON Primary School pupils got an insight into Buddhism when buddhist Richard Weeden paid a visit to talk to them. Youngsters from years three, four, five and six were given the chance to take part in meditation for a few minutes, and heard that the key to happiness was generosity to others, which is a central theme in the ethos of the school.
DAREDEVEIL fund-raisers will take to the air on Sunday at Park Bridge Heritage Centre, in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. Wellwishers are invited to cheer them as they launch on to a zipwire in a joint event with Willow Wood Hospice, Ashton.
MAKE a date for October, 2013, as a member of a party bound for the Himalayas. The fund-raising trek promises spectacular mountain views, a visit to Laka Glacier, an insight into monastries and buddhism, and an optional tour to the Taj Mahal.
