New chairman

MEMBERS of Shaw Parish Council last night elected a new chairman and vice-chairman.
Councillor David Dunning, who replaces Councillor John Hall as chairman, said: “I hope we can all pull together for an interesting year.
“The parish is now in a position to do something for all the people of Crompton and Shaw.”
Councillor David Murphy was elected as vice-chairman.
The financial statement showed total income for the year 2011-2012 was £194,809. After spending £83,273, it carry forward a balance of £111,536.
Payment of £150,000 for a 250-year lease on a building to be used as council offices was approved. The parish council will make an application for a £140,000 loan from the Public Works Loans Board.
