THE Royal British Legion women’s section is hosting a buffet party at Newtown Street, Shaw, next Tuesday, from noon to 4pm, to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Free entry.

THE Mothers’ Union at St Anne’s Church, Royton, is holding a craft, knit and natter session from 1.30pm on June 12 in the Narthex.

AN “anti-social car” is out and about in hot-spot areas as part of the ongoing police scheme —Operation Owl — in Royton, Shaw and Crompton.

POLICE gave out free key chains and bells as part of a crime-prevention tour of Royton and Shaw markets. Chief Supt Tim Forber joined the patrol.

TEENAGERS can play pool and watch films at a Movie Club held at Royton Youth Club. The session starts at 1pm on Saturday. Admission is 30p.

BLOOD donors are required for sessions at Royton Trinity Methodist Church, from 1.15-3.30pm and 5.15-7.30pm on July 6.
