CRICKET: IRFAN Zahoor and Arron Lilley shared a third-wicket partnership of 263 as Delph successfully chased down Shepley’s huge total in the Drakes Huddersfield Premiership.
Hosts Delph — going into the contest out of form following three successive league losses — must have feared the worst when their opponents roared to 360 for five.
But they clinched victory with seven wickets to spare.
The victory for Grant Jones’ men will breathe fresh life into their faltering title bid.
They were runners-up behind Honley last term, but the recent run of defeats threatened to derail their push for top spot so soon in the campaign.
WOODHOUSES suffered defeat at Prestwich in Lees Brewery Lancashire County League Division One.
