TARA Leisure in Shaw is the place to be on Saturday.


A charity night, organised by Keeley Berry, will feature singers, entertainment and raffles to help raise money for the Shaw explosion victims. Tickets are £5 for the adult-only event, which starts at 7pm.


a fundraising day in aid of Shaw gas-blast victim Jamie Heaton takes place at Royton Cricket Club, The Paddock, Bransdale Avenue, on Sunday, from 11am. It features a pro-cricket match and an open-air concert, along with bouncy castle, face painting, raffles and an auction. Admission is £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.


junior and senior cadets from Royton Air Training Corps gained top honours and a trophy for the junior female team when they took part in a full range of track and field events at the Greater Manchester Wing Athletics competition, held at The Manchester City Stadium.


A COFFEE morning held in a High Crompton house has raised £450 for Oldham Cancer Support Centre. Judith Leach and Sheila Buckley, with the help of near-by residents, organised the event in Cumbrian Close after a friend died of cancer.


Join Crompton House student Lauren White on her mission to raise cash for her trip to Ecuador with a comedy and curry night at St Anne’s Rugby Club, Royton, from 7pm tomorrow. £10 per head.


HIGH Crompton Conservative Club is taking on Cartshaft in a charity match at Crompton Cricket Cub, from 11am on Sunday, July 29. Entry is £2 to watch. All proceeds to benefit the Shaw explosion victims. Anyone with raffle prizes can contact Daniel Flanagan, the organiser, on 075-9526 8511.
