Shaw & Crompton Parish Council is holding its annual 11-mile chairman’s walk on Sunday.
Participants can go the full distance or join in at the pit stop at around 1.30pm at St Joseph’s Church in Shaw.
Meet at the entrance to Dunwood Park in Shaw at 10am.
Chairman David Dunning will be the VIP guest at the grand re-opening and centenary celebrations at Dunwood Park on Saturday.
POLICE have vowed to disperse youths who continue to hang around Duchess Street, Welland Road and Glebe Street after complaints of anti-social behaviour. Names will be taken down and warnings issued between Thursday and Sunday.
A HOME WATCH meeting is taking place at The Oddies, Union Street, from 7-8pm on Thursday, September 20.
THE Dachau cross will be on display at St Anne’s Church in Royton, from noon-4pm on Saturday, September 22. The sculpture was created as a memorial to human suffering and was first shown in Oldham in 1968.
THE Taebaek School of Taekwondo is hosting Macmillan coffee mornings from 5.30pm on Monday, September 24 through to Friday, September 28. Pop in for a brew and a cake at Unit A, First Floor, Shepherd Street in Royton.
A POLICE surgery is taking place at Trinity Methodist Church in Royton, from 10-11am on Thursday, September 20.
SHARPEN your pencils and your wits for the annual quiz night run by Macmillan Cancer Support’s Shaw and Crompton voluntary committee.
