Doreen’s famed pie morning

FUND-RAISER Doreen Firth is holding her own Macmillan coffee morning at St Paul’s Methodist Church in Shaw — with a twist.

The 78-year-old will be making her famed cheese and onion pie between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday. At her same event last year she raised £728.


THE comedy “April in Paris” is being staged at Shaw Playhouse2 from Saturday for a week. Monday night’s performance will be hosted by the Oldham Metro Rotary Club in aid of the Alzheimers Society. For tickets for that show call 0161-624 0801.


A LIGHT entertainment night including a potato pie supper is being held in aid of the building fund at St Mark’s Church, Heyside. The event, featuring music and a quiz, takes place from 7.30pm on Saturday, October 13. Tickets are £7 from 07976900894.


ROYTON folk will be able to pamper themselves with the opening of the Vanilla Beauty Lounge in Rochdale Road from 2pm today.

ROYTON Real Food Market is back on Sunday. From 10am until 2pm there will be stalls galore at Royton Precinct with a range of produce on offer.
