Pitch plans opposed
Date published: 09 November 2012
PLANS to replace a run-down sports field with an all-weather pitch at Crompton House School has been unanimously recommended for refusal by parish councillors.
Members of Shaw planning committee received 38 objections from residents regarding the application submitted by the Rochdale Road school.
Neighbouring homeowners said while they were in favour of boosting community facilities, they were concerned about noise and light pollution, parking and drainage problems and the potential for bad language from those using the pitch.
The application will now be passed to Oldham Council’s planning committee for a final decision.
