TICKETS are on sale for a concert by Mid Life Crisis, to raise cash for the Royal Rover.
The event takes place at Tara Leisure, Shaw, from 8pm on Saturday, March 16. Tickets can be bought from Rose, on 0161-652 1049, or pay on the door.
SHAW & Crompton Parish Council is collecting unwanted gifts that would be suitable for tombola or raffle prizes in aid of its chairman’s chosen charities. Donations can be dropped off at the parish council office in High Street, Shaw, between 9.30am-3pm, Monday to Friday.
ROYTON Community Forum (formerly PACT) takes place at Royton Youth Centre, Chapel Street, from 7pm on Monday.
AS PART of National Chip Week, fire crews will be at Asda in Shaw on February 25 doing demonstrations, at 11am and 2pm, to raise awareness of the dangers of chip pan fires.
ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild has raised £1,100 over the past year for the North-West Air Ambulance by holding coffee mornings, silent auctions and other events.
WOMEN’S World Day of Prayer is taking place at 2pm on Friday, March 1, at Shaw’s Salvation Army. The theme country is France. Everyone is welcome to attend.
SHAW Playhouse is showing the film “Pretty Woman” to boost funds for Lorna Barry’s Camp Ecuador expedition. The bar opens at 7pm, with the film at 8pm tomorrow. Tickets are available from Interiors, Market Street, or pay on the door.
THE Old Grey Mare, Royton, is appealing for donations of prizes to raffle in aid of Macmillan Nurses. A fundraising event will be held on May 5. Items can be handed in at the pub or contact Angela Collier on 0161-626 1220.
