Any spare wool?

NIFTY knitters with some spare wool can donate it to the knit and knatter group at St Anne’s Church in Royton.


The group is using the wool to make blankets for the premature baby unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital. The group’s next meeting is at 1.30pm on Tuesday.


TICKETS are still available for Women of Oldham committee’s Springtime Delights charity event tonight. Shirley Heather will be giving a cookery demonstration. It starts at 7.30pm at St Paul’s Church, Shaw and tickets are available from chair Janet Larton on 0161-652 8878.


SHAW and Crompton parish council is hosting a big St George's Day celebration. From 11am-1pm on Sunday there will be a car boot and gifts and food on sale at Shaw Market and in the lifelong Learning Centre, there will be English afternoon tea, circus skills, face painting, aromatherapy sessions and much more.


THE annual meeting of St Anne’s Church, Royton, takes place at 11.30am on Sunday in the church hall after the morning service.


PINCHITOS Wine Bar in Royton, is holding a charity event for Dr Kershaw’s on Sunday. From 5pm, visitors can enjoy raffles, an auction and live entertainment.


TABLES are now being booked for Shaw United Reform Church table top and craft sale, on Saturday, May 4. The event is being held between 9.30am-12.30pm, and tables are £8. Call 01706 844 899 or 01706 848 555 to book. Refreshments, including bacon butties, will be available.
