THE Carers Social Club based at The Haggate, Royton, meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 8-9.30pm.


People can join for a friendly chat, find out about financial support or to get professional advice. Refreshments are available. The next meeting is on Wednesday.


ST JAMES Church East Crompton, is holding a family funday at St Saviour’s Church in Buckstones Road, on Saturday, July 20.


ROYTON Band Club is hosting a 1940s night on Saturday, July 20. Fancy dress is welcome at the bash, which starts at 7.30pm. Supper is included for a £2 entry fee.


ROYTON Townswomen’s Guild is presenting a talk entitled “A personal journey: Richard Chapman and his guide dog Chester.” It takes place from 7.30pm on Tuesday, August 13, at Royton Town Hall.


A MUSICAL evening with The Pennine NHS Community Choir and St Mark’s Brigade Band takes place at St Mark’s Church in Heyside. The show starts tonight at 7.15pm. Pay on the door in aid of church building fund.

WANT to learn to crown green bowl for free? Then show up at Dunwood Park for free junior tuition from 9.15am to noon, every weekday from July 22 until August 30. Flat shoes are required.
