SHAW and Crompton Community Forum will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 6pm at Crompton Library, Farrow Street East. All are welcome.
SHAW Cricket Club and local warehouse JD Williams are hosting their annual bonfire and firework night on Saturday from 6pm at Shaw Cricket Club. The Mark Lane ground will see a coconut shy, hoopla and juggling as well as a band, hog roast and barbecue. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30 and the fireworks begin at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and children under 10 are free. Free parking is available in the JD Williams car park on Beal Lane.
A JUNIOR badminton club is now held at Crompton House School Sports Hall on Rochdale Road every Thursday from 6 to 9pm. Aimed at children aged eight to 16 it costs £4 and is open to players of all abilities.

TIRED parents can take their children to Shaw Rascals on Chapel Street tomorrow between 7.30am and 5.30pm. Singing, dancing, reading, writing, walks and visits are all on offer and children aged from three to 11 can be looked after for a whole day for £18.50 or part day for £9.25.

TEENAGERS can enjoy supervised gym use every Monday and Wednesday at Crompton Glogym from 4 to 6pm. The service also allows young people aged 13 to 15 to benefit from the teaching of fully qualified instructors.
