A CHRISTMAS cash collection will take place on Saturday at Asda, Shaw, from 10am to 2pm and 4 to 6pm.
SHAW and Crompton Parish Council is inviting primary schools across Oldham to enter its annual music, orchestra and choir festival at Crompton House School, Rochdale Road, Shaw, on Friday, December 6. Email the parish council clerk at clerk.shawcrompc@btconnect.com for more information.
GET into the festive spirit when Shaw’s Christmas tree lights are switched on at the Wren’s Nest on Friday. Chairman of Shaw and Crompton Parish Council, Councillor Dave Murphy, will switch on the lights at 5pm.
RESIDENTS can get advice on issues affecting them at Crompton Library’s drop-in sessions. The Citizens’ Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice from 9.30-11am. JAMIE’S Something Special group is holding a Christmas fair on Sunday between 11am and 4pm. Held at the Lifelong Learning Centre, on High Street, Shaw, stalls, raffles, refreshments and a Santa’s grotto will all be available. All proceeds will go towards refurbishing Bullcote Park in memory of Jamie Heaton, who died in the Shaw gas blast in June, last year.
