PLAYHOUSE 2 is screening “The Smurfs 2” on Monday, at 2.30pm, with tickets costing £4. Face painting, Father Christmas and refreshments will all be at the venue, with money raised going to Shaw and Crompton Parish Council’s chairman’s charities. Call 01706- 840400 for more information.

TRY handball every Monday during term-time at Royton and Crompton school, from 5 to 6pm for eight to 12s and from 6-7pm for 13 to 16-year-olds. Sessions cost £2. Call 01706-846474 for more information.
CROMPTON Pool is inviting young people with disabilities and their families to get in shape at its fortnightly swimming club. The sessions are held by Shaw and District Disabled Association and take place every other Sunday from noon to 1pm. SHAW Youth Centre, in Chapel Street, is offering pool, games and topical workshops to youngsters in Shaw on Monday from 6.30 until 9pm. Aimed at ages 13 to 19 and costing only 30p, it is the perfect opportunity to meet and socialise with other young people. Call 0161- 770 5259
