DUNWOOD Park in Shaw is set for refurbishment of the infrastructure and bowling pavilion, as well as demolition and rebuilding of an extended gardeners’ building, after parish councillors approved the plans.
But councillors recommended for refusal the remodelling of an existing house in Hillside Avenue, Shaw, including two underground garages, on grounds of its size.
The Salvation Army in Shaw would like to express their sincere thanks to Roytonians who donated £191 in loose change at their collection day last Saturday. The cash will go towards their ongoing work in the community.
PLACES are now available for children aged 8-10 to join 8th Shaw Cubs who meet at St Paul’s Church on Rochdale Road, every Monday from 7-8.30pm.
BLOOD donors are needed at St Paul’s Parish Centre from 1.15-3.30pm and 5.15-7.30pm tomorrow.
A FAMILY fun day with Latics mascot Chaddy the Owl takes place at High Crompton Park in Shaw from 1-4pm on Saturday. Attractions include donkey rides and a bouncy castle.

ENJOY glorious blooms at a weekend flower festival hosted by Oldham Floral Society at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, Royton, on Saturday and Sunday. Donations can be made to the hospice on the door.
PLANNING officers have quashed rumours that there are plans to build a Tesco store on the site of Royton Assembly Hall.
