ROYTON police have advised that the station in Radcliffe Street does not currently have regular opening hours due to limited resources but residents can call the Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0161-856 8983.

DR KERSHAW’S Hospice is holding a picnic in its Turf Lane gardens from 6-9pm on Saturday in celebration of appeals manager Brian Hurst’s retirement. Tickets are £3 from 0161-624 9984.

GET the chance to see lots of animals up close at Royton Children’s Centre in Blackshaw Lane, Shaw, from 10am-2pm on Saturday. The event is suitable for children aged 0-5 years.

RESIDENTS are invited to Royton and Shaw Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Justice Seen Justice Done meeting, which will be held from 2 to-3.30pm on Monday, July 11, at Sweetbriar House, Glebe Street, Shaw.

ROYTON Air Training Corps came second in a contest to find the nation’s best squadron. The team has won the prestigious Morris trophy.

HEYSIDE Festival and Sports Day takes place at Bullcote Park, Heyside from noon until 8pm on Saturday, July 16. There will be a performance by Uppermill Brass Band, competitions, bouncy castle, stalls and much more.

ROYTON police are holding a car crime initiative at Elk Mill Retail Park from 10am-4pm on Saturday, July 9. There will be free tamperproof screws for registration plates.


BLOOD donors are required at St Paul’s Parish Centre, Church Street, between 1.15 and 3.30pm and 5.15 and 7.30pm on Friday, July 8.
